Industry PhD

Do you want to acquire the title of doctor through research in data science, computer science or information science?

As an external or industry PhD candidate, you conduct research in addition to or in combination with your work. You are not employed by the Open University, but you work on your dissertation under the supervision of an Open University professor (the supervisor) on a topic that you choose in consultation with your supervisor. Mutual agreements are made about your promotion process and the Open University facilities that you can use.
