Peter Sloep

Peter SloepProf. Peter B. Sloep directs the Research and Technology Development Programme on Learning Networks at the Centre for Learning Sciences and Technologies of the Open University of the Netherlands. His current research focusses on learning and professional development in networked, online environments, so-called learning networks. Of particular interest are the social affordances and their technical implementation in services – including specifications for interoperability - that make learning in such an environment effective, efficient, enjoyable and sustainable.

Dr. Sloep is a reviewer of several journals on Technology Enhanced Learning. He also chairs the Dutch standards body’s (NEN) committee on learning technologies. Over the years, he has built up extensive project management experience with a variety of internally, nationally and internationally funded projects. Most recently, has been involved in the FP6 projects Cooper (STREP), and TENCompetence (IP). He coordinates the FP 7 idSpace project (STREP) on distributed, collaborative     product innovation.
