Information and support for students

Feeling safe as a student at the Open Universiteit is important. If you are dealing with unsafe situations or undesirable behavior, you are not alone. There are several people and facilities where you can go.

Social Security and Integrity hotline

Are you dealing with unwanted behavior or a violation of integrity? Depending on your request for help, you can go to different places. Is it hard to determine where you need to be? The Point of contact will show you the way.

Confidential conversation

If you experience undesirable behaviour during your studies, your teacher will be the first point of contact. You can always contact a study advisor.

Would you rather have a confidential conversation first? Then you can contact one of the confidential counsellors of the Open Universiteit.

Do you want to discuss structural problems?

You can contact the Ombudsperson for a confidential conversation about structural problems or abuses. For example, if you experience structurally cross-border behaviour or are confronted with an unjust application of rules or procedures.

Make a formal complaint about undesirable behaviour

You can file a formal complaint if you experience undesirable behaviour by an Open Universiteit employee. A confidant can help you with this. The Complaints Procedure for Unwanted Behaviour applies.

Do you suspect wrongdoing?

Do you suspect an abuse in which the law is violated or the social interest is at stake? For more information, visit the Procedure Reporting Suspicion of Misconduct webpage.
