Co-creation research
The common thread and the basis of all CAROU projects is data. CAROU has defined three research domains: (1) Data Science & Artificial Intelligence, (2) Social Innovation & Data Science and (3) Business Analytics. Together with partners (from both the private and the public domain) who have innovation questions, opportunities are sought to set up multidisciplinary collaboration projects. We prioritize business value and scientific rigor equally, meaning our research is hands-on and will deliver both running prototypes and academic papers.

Research domains and themes

Next to the three research domains, several themes from the societal challenges mentioned in both the national multi-year mission-driven innovation programs and the mission-driven economic policy of the Province of Limburg have been identified. These are the themes on which CAROU will focus when starting new projects in the coming years.

Whitepaper series

At CAROU, we believe that scientific research should have business and societal value. We strive to make academic and scientific knowledge accessible for a broader audience. The CAROU Whitepaper Series aims at doing just that. Each whitepaper dives into a research topic; explaining the topic and it’s applications / added value in business and society.
