Onderzoek

The development of an online tailored advice for victims of cyberbullying. The intervention is developed according to the Intervention Mapping method. It aims to learn victims how to cope with cyberbullying and the negative effects of cyberbullying by getting insight in their responses (via insights in their thoughts and feelings caused by the event). They will learn to replace irrational thoughts and ineffective coping strategies in rational thoughts and effective coping strategies. The advice is an online translation of the training 'Plezier op school', translated in cooperation with the developer of the training. The training is based on cognitive behavioral therapy (the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT)) and methods from the social cognitive theory of Bandura (1986). The intervention will be tested using an experimental design and after proven effective it will be implemented nationwide, to be accessible for all victims of cyberbullying.
