Dr. Nicole Goossens
Nicole Goossens studied Communication- and Information Sciences at Tilburg University. She received her Master’s degree in 2009. From December 2009 until November 2013, she was a PhD student in a project about primary school vocabulary learning at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In this project the main research question was whether memory strategies known from cognitive psychology (i.e., the spacing effect, the testing effect) are beneficial for primary school vocabulary learning.
Since april 2014, she is doing a post doc project at Open University of The Netherlands in which the main research question is whether memory strategies like the spacing effect and the testing effect can be succesfully integrated in current primary school vocabulary lessons.
