Route description
By train or bus
From the bus station various bus lines leave several times every hour. Take the busstop Hogeschool Zuyd at the road Nieuw Eyckholt. From here it's a five minutes walk to the Open University of the Netherlands (Open Universiteit).
Taxis are available at the trainstation. From the bus station or trainstation it's a 30 minutes walk to the Open Universiteit.
By car
- Coming from the north (Eindhoven):
Via A76/A79
- Keep to the right at junction Kerensheide, follow the signs E314/A76 direction Heerlen/Aachen.
- Continue straight on at junction Ten Esschen direction Keulen/Aken/Kerkrade (do not turn right direction Heerlen N281)
- Turn right at junction Kunderberg to A79 direction Voerendaal/Valkenburg/Maastricht
- Take on A79 exit 6 direction Voerendaal.
- Turn right at the end of the exit
- Turn right at the roundabout (first exit).
- After appr. 1 km the Open Universiteit is on your right. - Coming from the west (Maastricht):
Via A2/A79
- Follow the signs A2/E25 in the direction Eindhoven
- Turn right after appr. 1,5 km to A79 direction Heerlen
- Keep to the right on A79 direction Heerlen
- Take the exit at junction Kunderberg to A76 direction Heerlen-Centrum
- Keep to the left lane and take exit 7 direction Heerlen-Centrum.
- Turn left at the end of the exit direction Centrum/Brunssum (John F. Kennedylaan)
- Turn left at the roundabout (second exit) direction Voerendaal (Valkenburgerweg)
- After appr. 200 mtrs the Open Universiteit is on your left.
N.B. From Maastricht-Aachen airport the travelling time is appr. 20 minutes - Coming from the south (Aachen):
Via A4/A79
- Follow the signs A76/E314 Heerlen
- Take the exit at junction Kunderberg to A79 direction Maastricht/Valkenburg/Voerendaal
- Take on A79 exit 6 direction Voerendaal.
- Turn right at the end of the exit
- Turn right at the roundabout (first exit).
- After appr. 1 km the Open Universiteit is on your right.
