Dr. Roy Willems
Dr. Roy Willems is postdoctoral researcher at the Open University of the Netherlands. He has a background in health and social psychology in which he specialized in intervention development and evaluation. He has special interest in research concerning stigma, discrimination, (cyber)bullying, coping during long term illness, self-management and psychosocial wellbeing. In 2018 he received his PhD on research concerning the development and evaluation of an eHealth intervention for cancer survivors, for which he won the Open University Science Award for best dissertation in the period of 2016-2018.
Since January 2018 dr. Willems joined the Blurred Lives team. He is responsible for the implementation of the project for the Dutch team, including conducting survey research, administration, data analysis, and coordination and moderation of the Focus Groups and Quality Circles.
