Dr Maria Sapouna is Senior Lecturer in Criminology at the University of the West of Scotland. Maria's main expertise and research interest is in school bullying with a particular emphasis on precursors, outcomes and interventions. She has published in leading journals including the Journal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, Child Abuse and Neglect and the Journal of Interpersonal Violence. Maria has been principal investigator or co-investigator on a number of research projects and her research has been funded by the Scottish Prison Service, the Lancashire Probation Service and charities. Maria is the Principal Investigator of the GATEBULL project and has overall management responsibility for all aspects of the project implementation.
