Content
This course begins with a brief welcome, followed by seven learning units that cover various aspects of micro- and nanoplastic pollution (SMNPs) in the (aquatic) environment. Examples are (eco)toxicity, sampling and monitoring, mitigation and stakeholder participation.

Learning objectives are formulated for each learning unit. Each learning unit focuses on one or two specific topics and consists of short texts, videos, and assignments. At the end of each learning unit, a list of articles is provided for further reading. The learning units can be completed independently of each other.

Target audience

The action-oriented course on micro- and nanoplastics pollution in the environment, developed by the EU Horizon2020 LABPLAS project, is designed for anyone interested in understanding the challenges posed by micro- and nanoplastics in the (aquatic) environment, with a particular focus on professionals who work directly or indirectly with (micro- and nano)plastics.

In the course, several environmental scientists, part of the Labplas consortium, share their insights on different aspects of micro- and nanoplastics pollution in the environment, including mitigation strategies and stakeholder participation.
