Save the date: 28 & 29th January 2022 International Conference on Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation
The Open Universiteit, the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR), and Vrije Universiteit are pleased to announce a two-day conference on 20th and 21st May 2022 on the topic of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. This engaging and thought provoking conference aims to provide a glimpse into the various experiences and approaches adopted by experts from different fields against human trafficking.

The audience can look forward to a series of interesting presentations by academics/researchers, policy makers, law enforcement officials, and other experts as well as a panel discussion with sex workers from around the world that address the nature and methods of anti-trafficking interventions.

The conference will be of interest to scholars, practitioners, Ministry of Justice and Safety, NGO’s, students, victims of trafficking, sex workers and other stakeholders concerned with the topic.

Practical details

  • Date conference: 20th May 2022 - 11.00 to 17.00 and 21st May 2022 - 10.00 to 17.00
  • Virtual and in person: The conference can be attended virtual and in person
  • Registration: The conference is free to attend and (pre)registration is possible by filling in the registration form
  • Location: Auditorium of the Symphony Offices, Gustav Mahlerplein 3, Amsterdam. Due to COVID-19 health protocols, there will be a limited amount of people allowed onsite.
