International Conference on Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation on 20th and 21st of May 2022
Human Trafficking is the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring or receipt of people through force, fraud or deception with the aim of exploitation. Tackling this crime requires cooperation and the sharing of knowledge. The Open Universiteit, the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR), and Vrije Universiteit organize a two-day conference on 20th and 21st of May 2022 on the topic of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. This engaging and thought provoking conference aims to provide a glimpse into the various experiences and approaches adopted by experts from different fields against human trafficking.

Presentations, panel discussions and workshops

The audience can look forward to a series of interesting presentations by researchers, policy makers, professionals and other experts, as well as a panel discussion with sex workers from around the world. The conference will focus on legal and other interventions against human trafficking. The conference will be of interest to scholars, practitioners, Ministry of Justice and Safety, NGO’s, students, victims of trafficking, sex workers and other stakeholders concerned with the topic.

  • Online and in person: The conference can be attended online and in person.
  • Registration: The conference is free to attend. To register, please fill in the registration form.
  • Please note: registration for in-person attendance is still possible until Friday, 3th May 2022 at 12:00 pm. Registration for online attendance closes on Wednesday, 17th May 2022 at midnight.
