The Works Council has the right to give advice and the right of consent based on the Works Councils Act (WOR). Together with the Student Council, the Works Council also forms the Joint Meeting. The Joint Meeting has the legal right of consent based on the Higher Education and Research Act (WHW). At the Open Universiteit - an organisation with over 600 people - the Works Council has 13 members. The Works Council of the Open Universiteit has a term of 2 years in accordance with its regulations.
