The department does this by employing quantitative and qualitative research methods from educational sciences, social sciences and computeres scinences: research by design, instructional design, prototyping, experiments led by the needs of stakeholders and in clos collaboration with for example teachers, students, domain experts, (future) employers, , HCI / IT-designers.
